Welcome to Intermountain Health! As part of your onboarding experience, we want to capture a professional headshot for your provider profile using Capturely.

What is a virtual headshot?

A professional headshot—captured remotely.

Our Capturely photographer guides you through a 10-minute session using your smartphone via our mobile app. With expert direction and 24-hour delivery, you get a studio-quality headshot—without the hassle.

Scheduling your photo session

  • step 1

    Download the Capturely app on the smartphone (iPhone or Android) that you will use for your virtual headshot session.

  • step 2

    Open the Capturely app to find your Session ID #.

  • step 3

    If you have been issued a MUSC ID #, have it handy. (This information ensures photos are linked to the correct person in the database.)

  • step 4

    Go to the Capturely scheduling form to select a day and time that is convenient for you.

  • step 5

    Once you’ve picked a time slot, you’ll be asked to enter your contact information, role within MUSC, session ID # and MUSC ID #.

  • Final step

    Review and accept the Terms & Conditions.

Note: You may reschedule or cancel up until your session time. After that, MUSC will be charged for any no-shows.

    Once your session ends, our photographers will download your top 3 images and send them off for editing & retouching.

    Your headshots will be ready within 24 hours after your session, and you'll receive an email with a link to view the images.

How to prepare

What to wear

  • These headshots represent you professionally as a caregiver of Intermountain Health.

  • Dress professionally.

  • Avoid overly casual clothing.

  • Wear neutral and solid colors.

  • Stick with simple jewelry.

  • Avoid overly bright colors like yellow, red, and orange.

  • Avoid black and white.

  • Avoid wearing logos or pictures on clothing.

Choose a location

  • Shoot your photo indoors within a room or hallway with a window that lets in ample natural light.

  • The background should contrast with your hair color.

  • If you are unable to find someone to hold your smartphone during the photoshoot, you will need to use a window ledge, table, or other surface to stand it up.

Set up phone

  • Position your phone at eye level ensuring your face is directed towards the window. If possible, ask a friend or colleague to hold your phone up and steady during the shoot.

  • Have a fast, reliable Internet connection or use data.

  • Charge your phone to at least 50%.

  • Close all apps to maximize your phone’s performance.

  • Open the Capturely app.

  • Allow necessary permissions to connect with your photographer.

Your photographer will provide additional guidance during your session.

Intermountain Health headshots

Styles have been pre-selected by Intermountain Health

  • Headshots are delivered using one of Intermountain Health’s custom backgrounds.

  • Photos are cropped to Intermountain Health’s requirements.

  • Basic retouching will be applied to all photos.

Reviewing and approving your headshots

  • Your headshots will be ready within 24 hours after your session, and you'll receive an email with a link to view the images.

  • If you're happy with the headshots, simply select "Approved."

  • If you'd like any retouching or adjustments, you can easily request them at this stage.

  • If feedback is not received within three days, photos will be sent to the Intermountain Health review and final approval.
